- When will they be ready to leave ?
- At 8 weeks, we do not keep puppies beyond this time as we feel that the 8 - 10 week socialisation period with new families is vital for the puppies development.
- Can I visit my puppy as he/she is growing up ?
- Possibly ( depending o COVID restrictions) - by prior appointment please - the more cuddling the better !
- Will they be microchipped and vet checked and 1st vaccination and insured ?
- Yes and insurance with Petplan for 4 weeks.
- Will I have ongoing support ?
- Yes - telephone and email support and return within 4 weeks for full refund if any health issues found.
- How big do they grow?
- It varies - about 16 - 18 inches to the top of their shoulders, about a springer size.
- Do I need to clip them ?
- Yes, they are non/low shed dogs, they will need to be clipped occasionally, depending on whether you prefer them with a long or short coat. When their coat is long, it is curly and wavy and soft.
- I suffer from allergies , is a F1B goldendoodle a dog for me ?
- Usually, yes, F1B goldendoodles are 3/4 poodle and 1/4 retriever, this makes them more hypoallergenic than most other dogs.
- Are they good with children and other pets ?
- Excellent temperament, non aggressive, placid dogs, but they will all need to get to know each other and learn the house rules.
- Are they intelligent ?
- Very and easy to train as they are of working retriever and gun dog stock.
- Do they develop health problems ?
- As they are a mix of genetics and breed, they will have some hybrid vigour and both parents have been checked for many genetic problems, but please talk to a vet for further advice.
- Do they like water ?
- Not with the enthusiasm of a Labrador, but yes on a hot day !
- Do they fetch a ball ?
- Absolutely, their favourite pastime !
- Will I get a puppy pack with food etc ?
- Yes, we wean them on beta puppy, you will have a bag of beta puppy, a blanket that smells of mum and the litter, some puppy toys and copies of documentation.
- Are they used to a crate and what size crate should we have ?
- Your puppy will have been with his/her siblings and will not be used to a crate but we do encourage the use of a crate once you take your puppy home. We will give you a blanket that smells of the litter. I find putting old blankets around 3 sides helps the pup to feel more secure. remember to tell young children that if your pup is asleep in the crate, this is his safe area and he is not to be disturbed. A medium crate will be sufficient.
- What is an F1B goldendoodle ?
- An F1B is an F1 goldendoodle ( one poodle parent and one retriever parent who has been bred with a pure poodle, to produce a litter of puppies who will be more curly as they have more poodle genes than an F1 goldendoodle, they tend to be less /no shed and more hypoallergenic.
